	Spring '12 Consumption Zheng Drag racing, a hobby founded by Wally Parks after World War II. Unlike NASCAR where you end where you began, drag race actually has a finish line. Racers get one chance to show what they have. You mess up; you are out of the game. There is no catching up in the next round. One round is all it takes. It started out with top speed of 100 miles per hour (1930's) to 330 miles per hour (1999). Fastest speed ever recorded? Top fuel Dragster 4.42 second at 336 miles per hour and funny car 4.65 seconds at 333 miles per hour Drag racing is not simply where a bunch of racers and audience gather, watch the race, and leave. It's about the building bond and the consumption of the GASOLIN!!! There are a lot of interactions going on before, during, and after the race. Before the race, can be the most important part. This is where the racers polishes their car, double check everything and showing off their car! This is when communication and interactions happen. Racers sets up their tent and have breakfast and talk! This forms a social interaction. Strangers are using their same point of interest (drag racing) to socialize and built alliances; or enemy depending on how arrogant on can be about their car. The car is also a form of art. Racers spent so much time changing parts, building, painting, and polishing their car just to race and show their "baby" off. More connection is built during the race.
